Thank you so much for inviting me to Virginia and giving me the opportunity to share what God has done in the city of Tucson Arizona. My name is Randy Reynolds and I have worked as a minister in Tucson for over 50 years. My prayer is that our interaction will stimulate you as God is at work in your area to bring about the Kingdom of God. It is a story well worth hearing!
Tucson’s Historic Crime Rate
I started Community Renewal in 2005 because Tucson had become known as the city with the highest crime rate in America.
This was based on crystal meth use and property crime. We formed the Meth Free Alliance and soon were free of this bad statistic. During that time, I became a “City Pastor” and helped clean up our city of many of its problems.
Pay Day Loan’s Removed
We eliminated pay-day loans which had an interest rate of 390%. We voted this exploitive lending practice out of our State in 2008. I was blessed enough to have taken the lead in the faith community city and Statewide. See the two videos below for actual people we have helped.
Built Partnerships Among Pastors & Ministries
From a unity point of view, we organized the churches and para-churches around different prayer summits, pastoral prayer summits, City prayer summits, National prayer summits and many different prayer groups. I was asked to run the City Prayer Summit. This was a mixture of political leaders and spiritual leaders praying over our city.
Work With Other Cities
There were many who participated in bringing transformation to our city. We also worked with other cities who were seeing God move to bring community development into their cities, Fresno, San Diego, Little Rock, Knoxville, and others. Community Renewal worked to bring relief work to the marginalized and many churches became missional. We also did development work, and reformational work, including micro-lending at no interest.

- how we do assessments with the poor of our city.
- We will show how we create 501-c-3s that minister to over 60 “at risk” populations in Tucson.
- We will share our story of how God has worked to bring about a Kingdom work in our city and pray it is an inspiration and gives you practical tools to transform your community.
