11th Annual Hampton Roads Prayer Walk

May 27, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 12:30 pm EDT

Calling all Hampton Roads Churches: Please join us for the 11th Annual Hampton Roads Prayer Walk as we seek the Lord for our region (May 27, Memorial Day weekend).

We will meet at GO Church (333 Edwin Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23462, which is just opposite the park). We will prayer walk the park for about 50 minutes. At the end of the walk, there will be a short corporate prayer meeting at GO Church.

Dress code for the walk will be white or red T-shirts (meaning – the blood of Jesus cleanses Hampton Roads). This prayer walk is a cross-denominational gathering and is expected to attract Christians from several different churches throughout the seven cities – Chesapeake, Hampton, Portsmouth, Newport News, Norfolk, Suffolk, and Virginia Beach. People will assemble at GO Church for a brief time of instructions, then will pray while walking around Mount Trashmore. The walk is based on the scripture, Jeremiah 29:7, where God instructs us to “Seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf…”

Areas of concern for prayer include: The end of the pandemic, the moral state of the region; those in positions of leadership in our region’s governments to rule well and with Godly leadership in righteousness, integrity and justice; the escalation of violence; the prosperity of the region, the rich, the poor, unemployment, and our schools. The “prayer-walkers” will also be praying about righteousness and unity in the church and for the bold and unified presentation of the gospel throughout Hampton Roads.

This is an event in which many churches can participate in a safe non-threatening outdoor environment where we can all pray for God to heal our cities and as we are unified in this way.
