Alpha & Omega Network of Family Services in Newport News

Rev. Duke McCaskill and his wife, Duchess, lead this powerful rescue ministry for children in poor neighborhoods in Newport News, Virginia. By teaching them biblical virtue values, they help break the very painful cycle of your black youth going to jail so frequently.

Many of these children are growing up without fathers in the home and with overworked mom’s trying to hold things together.  Duke and Duchess provide a beautiful model of loving parents as they teach many children and youth what it means to have godly character.  They also provide needed food, clothing can Christian camping opportunities for them.

Lives are being rescued from the street gangs and crime that often tempt children coming from poor, broken homes.

Children of Incarcerated Parents: Another ministry focus of Alpha & Omega

According to Kids Count in Virginia, there are close to 20,000 children on the VA Peninsula with
a parent(s) who is/are incarcerated.

Research (Annie C. Casey foundation) indicates that these children suffer from damaging factors that are unique to them (severe academic deficiencies, school drop-out, early juvenile delinquency, gang involvement and other risky behaviors).

In order to offer positive and effective intervention into the lives of these children, to reverse (resolve) all of the afore-mentioned community/societal issues, and break the resultant cycle of crime and incarceration, Alpha & Omega Network established CAPP (Children of Absentee Parent Project) in 2002.
