The Mt. Carmel Baptist Church…
is one of the oldest places of worship in Portsmouth, Virginia. Prominently located in the Historic Truxton community, Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church was founded January 14, 1921 by 9 individuals. The church has been and still is a beacon of hope for individuals from all walks of life. The mission of Mt. Carmel is to Reach, Teach, and Minister to anyone Ready, Willing or Able to commence and grow a relationship with Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
