Gospel: The “gospel” (or “good news”) of Jesus Christ is the central guiding component of everything we do (Phil. 1:27). The “gospel” is a word from God and, therefore, is an absolute truth in which we can anchor our lives. The gospel is bigger than our personal preferences, backgrounds, and experiences. It unifies all the members of our church in a common mission and vision.

Mission: The thrust of Jesus’ final command is a mission to make his name great, to proclaim the truth of his character, and to help others worship Him for who he is. The “good news” not just good for us, it is “news” to be heralded to every person. As a result, everything we do as a community of believers is focused on proclaiming the goodness of Jesus to everyone. We believe that the purpose of life is to know God and make him known. We do not live for our comfort or our agenda, but for the glory and purposes of God.

Community: Gospel and mission are for the individual but they are not individualistic. The church is not just a collection of individuals but is described by the Bible as a “family” and a “body.” The church is organic and united. It is not a club or a hobby but a people who work together amid their diverse backgrounds for one common, all-encompassing purpose — to make much of God. We believe that the Christian life is one intended to occur in a community rather than in isolation. We bear one another’s burdens, we pray for one another, we help one another, and we partner in the great cause of helping others come to know Jesus Christ.
