Oaktree Academy

K-6TH GRADES

As part of our philosophy of education, we value the importance of families spending both quality and quantity time together. We also recognize the demands on families and the necessity for families to depend on two incomes. We have designed our elementary program to help meet the needs of all of our families who desire to be a part of the Oaktree family. Students in these grades attend school Mon-Fri from 8:15-12:45 P.M.   During this time, they are taught from a Biblical worldview in a creative classroom in their four core subjects of language arts, math, science and social studies. In addition, students rotate through five electives that round out a quality program. Students have the option to then go home at 12:45 P.M. to enjoy lunch and afternoons with their families. Based on current research on effective learning for this age, little to no homework is assigned in these grade levels.

Should parents need to work afternoons, or if there is a class that interests your children, students can stay at school for lunch and then participate in amazing electives offered each day until 3:00 P.M.  Again, to meet your family’s own unique schedule, you can choose to have your children stay one to five days a week. Tuition is applied accordingly. Weekends and evenings are free to be family time and to allow your children to explore other interests.

7TH-12TH GRADES

As our students enter high school, Oaktree desires to instill within them a lifestyle of learning and to provide a schedule of options to allow each student to learn and grow academically, spiritually and socially. Students in these grades meet with our guidance counselor and can choose up to seven classes for their full time tuition. These classes are also taught from a Biblical worldview and are offered throughout the day from 7:30 A.M.-3:00 P.M. Additional classes and study hall blocks are also available. In addition, Oaktree offers our students a strong dual enrollment program to help advanced students complete college coursework while they are still in high school, along with a large number of on-line classes.  Homework assigned should take 1 ½ -2 hours Mon-Thurs, with no daily homework assigned on Fridays to allow weekends for family time and other interests.
