The Virginia Beach International Student Outreach Program is an ongoing volunteer community effort which cares for the health, safety, and well-being of J-1 Visa Summer Work Travel Students who travel from all over the world to work, live, and learn about American culture during the summer season in Virginia Beach.
J1 Cafe Nights
The Virginia Beach Community Chapel holds weekly dinners on Tuesday nights and fun events for J1 students all summer. They also plan bus trips for J1 students to Washington, D.C. and other popular destinations. Please visit their website for details:
J1 “Sideline Information Sessions”
In conjunction with the Virginia Beach Community Chapel’s J1 Cafe Nights, and at the same location, the VBISOP will be holding “Sideline Information Sessions” for international students.
At these “Sideline Sessions,” information will be shared about SEVIS, SOCIAL SECURITY, TRANSPORTATION, BIKES, SAFETY, BANKING, SUMMER SOCIAL EVENTS, AND TRAVEL TRIPS. We also have a special Virginia Beach International Student “Reflective Backpack” for you, as an arrival gift from VBISOP and the other sponsors who came together to purchase these for you. Please join us on Tuesday nights at the Virginia Beach Community Chapel at 7:00 p.m. for FOOD, FUN, and FRIENDS!
