| As you are well aware, we live in challenging times. Each year we see an increase in natural disasters as well as wars and other social conflicts. In recent years, the Lord has spoken to me consistently about the importance of being prepared, and I believe preparedness is more important today than ever before.
A few years ago, I wrote an article addressing the question, “Are we spiritually prepared and fit for the days ahead?” But God does not want us to only be prepared spiritually. We need to be prepared practically, as well. For nearly two decades, our ministry has been training churches to be prepared for disasters so they can be beacons of hope in the midst of chaos. In the same way, we can offer hope as individuals and families when we are prepared during ever increasing times of crisis. That is why we are partnering with Justin and Kynada Boland to offer a free online introductory session to the Preparedness Peace curriculum on Monday, March 11, from 6:30-8pm CT. This session will give you an overview of what is offered during the full six-week curriculum, which will also be offered free of charge, starting April 1. The six week “Train the Trainers” course will take you through the preparedness process AND equip you to lead the course in your community to help others prepare as well. As mentioned above, that course is also free, but the purchase of the Preparedness Peace training manual is required as it is used in the coursework. All are welcome to participate in the course. Preparedness Peace is a basic home and family disaster preparedness course designed to build a foundation for living out a lifestyle of preparedness with a focus on Jesus as our true source of security and peace.
